Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Lexus IS F. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
  • When replacing the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver, read the IDs stored in the ECU using the Techstream and note them down before removal.
  • It is necessary to perform initialization (See INITIALIZATION  ) after registration (See REGISTRATION  ) of the transmitter IDs into the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver if the ECU and/or one of the valve and transmitters have been replaced.
  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs of the multiplex communication system (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART ) and the speed sensor (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART ).

      Result 

      RESULT REFERENCE

      Condition Proceed to
      Multiplex communication error DTC is output A
      DTC of the vehicle speed sensor (C0200/31, C0205/32, C0210 and C0215/34) is output B
      DTCs of the multiplex communication and the speed sensor are not output. C

    A: REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCS  (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART )

    B: REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCS  (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART )

    C: Go to next step 

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG)
    3. Turn the Techstream on
    4. Enter the following menus. Chassis / Tire Pressure Monitor / Data List.
    5. Check that the value indicated on the Techstream and on the combination meter are the same

      OK: Vehicle speed indicated on the Techstream indicates the actual speed. 

    NG: REPLACE COMBINATION METER  (See REMOVAL )

    OK: REPLACE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER  (See REMOVAL  )
