Inspection Procedure

NOTE:
  • When replacing the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver, read the IDs stored in the old ECU using the Techstream and write them down before removal.
  • It is necessary to perform initialization (See INITIALIZATION  ) after registration (See REGISTRATION  ) of the transmitter IDs into the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver if the ECU has been replaced.
  1. CHECK MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if DTC B1247 is output in the multiplex communication system (See DTC B1247 TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR RECEIVER COMMUNICATION STOP )

      OK: DTC B1247 is not output. 

    NG: GO TO MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL (DATA LIST) 
    1. Turn the engine switch off
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG)
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Check that the values indicated on the Techstream and on the combination meter are the same Enter the following menus Chassis /Tire Pressure Monitor/ Data List

      OK: The vehicle speed displayed on the Techstream changes depending on the actual vehicle speed. 

    NG: GO TO METER / GAUGE SYSTEM  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. PERFORM SIGNAL CHECK (VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL) 
    1. Enter the signal check mode in Test Mode Procedure (See TEST MODE PROCEDURE  )
    2. Drive the vehicle at 20 km/h (12 mph) or more for 3 seconds to clear DTC C2191/91.
    3. Check the test mode DTCs.

      Result 

      RESULT REFERENCE

      Result Proceed to
      DTC C2191/91 is cleared A
      DTC C2191/91 is output B

    B: REPLACE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER  (See REMOVAL  )
