Rear Airbag Sensor: Removal

- PRECAUTION CAUTION: Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing (See PRECAUTION ).
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).

- REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY RH
- REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE REAR AIRBAG SENSOR
- Check that the engine switch is off.
- Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminalCAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- Disconnect the connector from the rear airbag sensorNOTE: When disconnecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
- Remove the bolt and disengage the pin, and remove the rear airbag sensor.NOTE: Loosen the bolt while holding the rear airbag sensor because the rear airbag sensor pin (stopper) is easily damaged.
