Front Passenger Airbag Assembly: Removal

REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT
HINT:

Refer to the procedure up to Remove No. 1 console box duct (See REMOVAL )
DISCONNECT NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE
1. Check that the engine switch is off.
2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
3. Disconnect the connector
  NOTE: When disconnecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE NO. 3 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT (See DISASSEMBLY )
REMOVE SIDE NO. 2 DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT (See DISASSEMBLY )
REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the 2 screws.

2. Disengage the 5 hooks (A)
3. Disengage the 5 hooks (B) and remove the front passenger airbag assembly from the instrument panel safety pad assembly as shown in the illustration.

REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE
1. Disconnect the 2 airbag connectors
  NOTE: When disconnecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
2. Remove the 2 clamps and No 2 instrument panel wire from the front passenger airbag assembly
