Instrument Panel Safety Pad: Installation

  1. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL STAY 
    1. Engage the claw and install the instrument panel stay

  2. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL CLIP 
    1. Engage the 4 claws and install the 4 instrument panel clips

  3. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the 5 claws.
      NOTE: Do not allow the wire harness to get caught in the claws.
    2. Engage the 2 clamps
    3. Install the 2 passenger airbag bolts < A > or < B >

      Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

    4. Install the 6 bolts < C > and nut < G >

    5. Engage the 2 claws and install the cooler thermistor.
    6. Engage the clamps.
    7. Connect the connectors and install the instrument panel safety pad assembly.

  4. CONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. INSTALL NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT 
    1. Install the No 1 console box duct with the clip.

  6. INSTALL NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX DUCT 
    1. Install the No 2 console box duct with the 2 clips.

  7. INSTALL FRONT STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (w/ Front Center Speaker)  (See INSTALLATION )
  8. INSTALL NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the 7 claws and 2 clips, and install the No 3 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.

  9. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector.
    2. Engage the 4 claws and 2 clips, and install the No 2 instrument panel register assembly.

  10. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector
    2. Engage the 7 claws and 2 clips, and install the No 1 instrument panel register assembly.

  11. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH  (See INSTALLATION  )
  12. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH 

    HINT

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side (See INSTALLATION  )

  13. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connectors.
    2. Engage the 2 claws.
    3. Install the glove compartment door assembly with the 5 screws < D >

  14. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  15. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the 4 clips and install the No 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

  16. INSTALL SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL RH 
    1. Engage the 5 claws and 3 clips, and then install the side instrument panel RH.

  17. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH 

    HINT

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side (See INSTALLATION  ).

  18. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    HINT

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side (See INSTALLATION  ).

  19. INSTALL COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connectors.
    2. Engage the 2 claws and install the combination meter assembly.

  20. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly with the 2 screws < F > and 2 clips.

  21. INSTALL DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  22. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connectors.
    2. Engage the 7 clips and install the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly

  23. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connectors
    2. Insert the No 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly into the guide as shown in the illustration
    3. Engage the 2 claws
    4. Install the No 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly with the 2 screws < D >

  24. INSTALL SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL LH 
    1. Engage the 5 claws and 3 clips, and then install the side instrument panel LH

  25. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH  (See INSTALLATION  )

  34. INSTALL INTEGRATION CONTROL PANEL WITH RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/o Navigation System)  (See INSTALLATION )
  35. INSTALL MULTI-DISPLAY WITH RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System)  (See INSTALLATION )
  36. INSTALL CENTER LOWER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL 
    1. Engage the 4 claws and install the center lower instrument cluster finish panel.

  37. INSTALL NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connectors.
    2. Engage the 11 claws and install the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly.

  38. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX  (See REASSEMBLY  )
  39. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION  )
  40. INSTALL REAR ASH RECEPTACLE ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION  )
  41. INSTALL FRONT ASH RECEPTACLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connectors.
    2. Insert the protruding parts of the front ash receptacle assembly into the 2 guide holes as shown in the illustration.

    3. Install the front ash receptacle assembly with the 2 screws < E >.

  42. INSTALL CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connectors.
    2. Engage the 8 clips and install the console panel sub-assembly

  43. INSTALL UPPER NO. 2 CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH 
    1. Engage the claw and 2 clips, and then install the upper No 2 console panel garnish.

  44. INSTALL UPPER NO. 1 CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH 
    1. Engage the claw and 2 clips, and then install the upper No 1 console panel garnish.

  45. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Turn the shift lever knob clockwise and install the shift lever knob sub-assembly

  46. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).
  47. INSPECT STEERING PAD  (See INSTALLATION )
  48. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
