Section 28 (Heating / Air Conditioning System): Condenser: Removal

  1. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL  (See REMOVAL )
  2. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  5. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM  (See REPLACEMENT  )
  6. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  8. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE PROTECTOR  (See REMOVAL )
  9. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  10. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER  (See REASSEMBLY )
  11. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER 
    1. Remove the 2 screws
    2. Disengage the 4 clips and the radiator support opening cover.

  12. REMOVE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System)  (See REMOVAL )
  13. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER  (See REMOVAL )
  14. REMOVE HOOD LOCK NUT CAP  (See REMOVAL )
  15. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  16. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT  (See REMOVAL )
  17. DISCONNECT OIL COOLER BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and disconnect the oil cooler bracket from the cooler condenser assembly

  18. DISCONNECT LIQUID PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the liquid pipe sub-assembly from the cooler condenser assembly
    2. Remove the O-ring from the liquid pipe sub-assembly
      NOTE: Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.

  19. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose from the cooler condenser assembly.
    2. Remove the O-ring from the No 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose
      NOTE: Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.

  20. REMOVE COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and cooler condenser assembly.

  21. REMOVE COOLER DRYER 
    1. Using a 14 mm straight hexagon wrench, remove the cap from the modulator.

    2. Using pliers, remove the cooler dryer.
