Cooling (3GR-FSE): Radiator: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and cover.
  4. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  5. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  6. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  7. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET 
    1. Remove the bolt and inlet.
  8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  9. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  10. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  11. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  12. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  13. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUBASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  14. DISCONNECT RADIATOR HOSE INLET 
    1. Disconnect the hose from the water inlet with thermostat and radiator tank upper.
  15. DISCONNECT RADIATOR HOSE OUTLET 
    1. Disconnect the hose from the water inlet and radiator tank lower.
  16. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the harness from the cooling fan ECU.
    2. Remove the 4 bolts and radiator.

      NOTE: Do not allow the cooler condenser and radiator to come into contact with each other.
    3. Detach the 3 claws and remove the fan.
    4. Remove the 2 radiator support cushions and 2 radiator lower supports from the radiator.
