Front LH Seat ASSY: Overhaul

CAUTION:

Always wear gloves because the sharp edges of the seatback frame and seat adjuster may cause injury.
Work must be started 90 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.
(The SRS is equipped with a back-up power source. If work is started within 90 seconds after disconnecting the negative (-) terminal cable of the battery, the SRS may deploy.)

HINT:

Installation is in the reverse order of removal. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt table (See SEAT - SERVICE SPECIFICATIONS )

DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
REMOVE SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER OUTER FRONT LH
1. Using a screwdriver, pry out the seat track bracket cover outer front LH.
HINT:

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
REMOVE SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER INNER FRONT LH
HINT:

Removal procedure of the seat track bracket cover inner front LH is the same as for the seat track bracket cover outer front LH.
REMOVE SEAT TRACK COVER RH
1. Using a screwdriver, pry out the 2 seat track cover RH.
HINT:

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
REMOVE FRONT LH SEAT ASSY
1. Disconnect the connectors under the front LH seat assy.
2. Remove the 4 bolts and front LH seat assy.
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the body.
REMOVE RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB
1. Using a screwdriver, remove the reclining power seat switch knob.
HINT:

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
REMOVE SLIDE & VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB
1. Using a screwdriver, remove the slide & vertical power seat switch knob.
HINT:

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER NO. 1 LH
1. Remove the 5 screws.
2. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the front seat cushion shield inner No. 1 LH with the front seat cushion shield LH, and then disconnect the connector.
  HINT:
  
  Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
3. Remove the screw and front seat cushion shield inner No. 1 LH.

REMOVE POWER SEAT SWITCH ASSY
1. Remove the 2 screws and power seat switch assy.
REMOVE POSITION CONTROL ECU & SWITCH ASSY
1. Disconnect the connectors.
2. Remove the 3 screws and position control ECU & switch assy.
REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH (SEE REPLACEMENT )
REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER LH
1. Remove the screw.
2. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw and clip, and remove the front seat cushion shield inner LH.
HINT:

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

REMOVE SEAT TRACK UPPER RAIL COVER LH
1. Using a screwdriver, remove the seat track upper rail cover LH.
HINT:

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
REMOVE SEAT TRACK UPR RAIL COVER RH
HINT:

Removal procedure of the seat track UPR rail cover RH is the same as for the seat track upper rail cover LH.
REMOVE SEAT TRACK UPR RAIL COVER LH
HINT:

Removal procedure of the seat track UPR rail cover LH is the same as for the seat track upper rail cover LH.
REMOVE FRONT SEAT LEG COVER NO. 1
1. Using a screwdriver, remove the front seat leg cover No. 1.
HINT:

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
REMOVE FRONT SEAT LEG COVER LH
HINT:

Removal procedure of the front seat leg cover LH is the same as for the front seat leg cover No.1.
REMOVE SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD
1. Disconnect the connector.
2. Remove the 2 clips.
3. Disengage the hook and remove the seat cushion cover together with the pad.
REMOVE SEAT CUSHION COVER
1. Remove the hog rings and seat cushion cover.
REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSY
REMOVE SEAT ARMREST CAP NO. 1
1. Remove the seat armrest cap No.1.
REMOVE SEAT ARMREST ASSY LH
1. Remove the bolt and seat armrest assy LH.
REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSY LH
1. Remove the 2 screws and front seatback board sub-assy LH.
REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD COVER SUB-ASSY
1. Remove the front seatback board cover sub-assy.
REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT
1. Remove the 2 front seat headrest supports.

REMOVE SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD
1. Disconnect the connector.
2. Disengage the clamp and disconnect the wire harness.
  NOTE: Be careful not to damage the cover.

3. Remove the hog rings, nut and seatback cover bracket.
4. Remove the hog rings and seatback cover together with the pad.

REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK COVER
1. Remove the hog rings and front seatback cover.
REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH
1. Remove the 2 screws and reclining adjuster inside cover LH (lower).
2. Remove the screw and reclining adjuster inside cover LH (upper).
REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER OUTSIDE COVER RH
1. Remove the 2 screws and reclining adjuster inside cover RH (lower).
2. Remove the screw and reclining adjuster inside cover RH (upper).
REMOVE VERTICAL ADJUSTER BRACKET COVER LH
1. Remove the screw and vertical adjuster bracket cover LH.
REMOVE VERTICAL ADJUSTER BRACKET COVER RH
1. Remove the screw and vertical adjuster bracket cover RH.
REMOVE LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSY LH
1. Disconnect the connector.
2. Remove the 2 screws and lumbar support adjuster assy LH.
REMOVE LUMBAR SUPPORT POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSY
1. Remove the 3 screws and lumbar support power seat motor assy.
REMOVE POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSY (DRIVER SEAT ONLY)
1. Disconnect the connectors.
2. Using a hexagon wrench 4.0 mm (0.15 in.), remove the 3 hexagon bolts and power seat motor assy (reclining).
3. Using a hexagon wrench 4.0 mm (0.15 in.), remove the 2 hexagon bolts, nut and power seat motor assy (lifter).
4. Using a hexagon wrench 4.0 mm (0.15 in.), remove the 2 hexagon bolts, nut and power seat motor assy (front vertical).
REMOVE POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSY (PASSENGER SEAT ONLY)
1. Disconnect the connectors.
2. Using a hexagon wrench 4.0 mm (0.15 in.), remove the 3 hexagon bolts and power seat motor assy (reclining).
3. Using a hexagon wrench 4.0 mm (0.15 in.), remove the 2 hexagon bolts, nut and power seat motor assy (slide).
REMOVE SEAT HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSY LH
1. Disconnect the connector.
2. Remove the seat heater control sub-assy LH.
REMOVE SEAT POSITION AIRBAG SENSOR (DRIVER SEAT ONLY) (SEE REPLACEMENT )
REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU (PASSENGER SEAT ONLY) (SEE REPLACEMENT )
REMOVE FRONT SEAT TRACK ASSY OUTER LH (DRIVER SEAT ONLY)
1. Disconnect the connector.
2. Using a torx® socket wrench (T40), remove the 6 torx® bolts and front seat track assy outer LH.
REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION PROTECTOR
1. Remove the 2 front seat cushion protectors.
INSTALL FRONT SEAT TRACK ASSY OUTER LH (DRIVER SEAT ONLY)
1. Using a torx® socket wrench (T40), install the front seat track assy outer LH with the 6 torx® bolts.
  Torque: 25 N.m (255 kgf.cm, 18 in.lbf)
2. Connect the connector.
INSTALL OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU (PASSENGER SEAT ONLY) (SEE REPLACEMENT )
INSTALL SEAT POSITION AIRBAG SENSOR (DRIVER SEAT ONLY) (SEE REPLACEMENT )
INSTALL POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSY (DRIVER SEAT ONLY)
1. Using a hexagon wrench 4.0 mm (0.15 in.), install the power seat motor assy (front vertical) with the 2 hexagon bolts and nut.
  Torque:
  - Bolt: 4.9 N.m (50 kgf.cm, 43 in.lbf)
  - Nut: 25 N.m (255 kgf.cm, 18 ft.lbf)
2. Using a hexagon wrench 4.0 mm (0.15 in.), install the power seat motor assy (lifter) with the 2 hexagon bolts and nut.
  Torque:
  - Bolt: 4.9 N.m (50 kgf.cm, 43 in.lbf)
  - Nut: 25 N.m (255 kgf.cm, 18 ft.lbf)
3. Using a hexagon wrench 4.0 mm (0.15 in.), install the power seat motor assy (reclining) with the 3 hexagon bolts.
  Torque: 4.9 N.m (50 kgf.cm, 43 in.lbf)
4. Connect the connectors.
INSTALL POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSY (PASSENGER SEAT ONLY)
1. Using a hexagon wrench 4.0 mm (0.15 in.), install the power seat motor assy (slide) with the 2 hexagon bolts and nut.
  Torque:
  - Bolt: 4.9 N.m (50 kgf.cm, 43 in.lbf)
  - Nut: 25 N.m (255 kgf.cm, 18 ft.lbf)
2. Using a hexagon wrench 4.0 mm (0.15 in.), install the power seat motor assy (reclining) with the 3 hexagon bolts.
  Torque: 4.9 N.m (50 kgf.cm, 43 in.lbf)
3. Connect the connectors.
INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK COVER
1. Install the seatback pad.
2. Cover the top of the seatback pad with the front seatback cover.
3. Using hog ring pliers, install the front seatback cover completely with new hog rings.
NOTE:
- Be careful not to damage the cover.
- When installing the hog rings, take care to prevent wrinkles as much as possible.

INSTALL SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD
1. Install the seatback cover together with the pad with new hog rings.
2. Install the front seatback cover bracket with the nut.
  Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)

3. Install the wire harness and clamp of the side airbag through the seat cushion cover end.
  NOTE: Be careful not to damage the cover.

4. Connect the connector.
INSTALL SEAT ARMREST ASSY LH
1. Install the seat armrest assy LH with the bolt.
  Torque: 37 N.m (377 kgf.cm, 27 ft.lbf)
INSTALL SEAT CUSHION COVER
1. Install the seat cushion pad to the seat cushion cover.
2. Using hog ring pliers, install the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion pad with new hog rings.
NOTE:
- Be careful not to damage the cover.
- When installing the hog rings, take care to prevent wrinkles as much as possible.

1. Place the front LH seat assy in the cabin.
  NOTE: Be careful not to damage the body.
2. Connect the connectors under the front LH seat assy.
3. Install the front LH seat assy with the 4 bolts.
  Torque: 37 N.m (377 kgf.cm, 27 ft.lbf)

CHECK POWER SEAT OPERATION (SEE ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
