- If a customer reports wind noise or water leak between glass run seal and moving glass (window). Start by completing a road test to confirm the presence of the issue. If the issue is observed, tape the moving glass (window) to glass run seal connection separately along the upper portion of the glass run seal and along the two vertical portions of the glass run seal. With the connection fully sealed by tape, complete the road test again.
- If the issue is still present, the leak is NOT between the glass run seal and the moving glass (window). Continue investigations as required.
- If issue is NO LONGER present, first remove the tape from along the vertical portions of the glass run seal and continue the road test.
- If the issue then re-occurs, this indicates that the leak is between the vertical portions of the glass run seal and the moving glass (window). GO to PINPOINT TEST I .
- If issue is NOT evident with tape removed from vertical portions of glass run seal, this may indicate that the leak is between upper portion of glass run seal and the moving glass (window). GO to PINPOINT TEST J .
