Pipe, Exhaust CROSSUNDER: Removal

WARNING:

The normal operating temperature of the exhaust system is very high. Therefore, never attempt to service any part of the exhaust system until it is cooled. Special care should be taken when working near the catalytic converter. The temperature of the converter rises to a high level after a short period of engine operation time.

  1. Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL .
  2. Remove the exhaust resonator. Refer to RESONATOR, EXHAUST, REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the rear engine insulator and bracket. Refer to INSULATOR, ENGINE MOUNT, RIGHT, REMOVAL .

  4. Remove the front cross-under pipe isolator bolts (1).

  5. Remove the rear cross-under pipe isolator bolts (1).

  6. Remove the cross-under pipe flange nuts (1).
  7. Remove the cross-under pipe (2) from the vehicle.

  8. Remove and discard the gasket (1).
