Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. Install the new shims (1) on the caliper bracket.

  2. Install the new brake pads (1 and 2) to the caliper bracket.
    NOTE:

    The inner pad is marked by the letter "B" stamped on the ends for attachment to slide pegs.

    NOTE:

    The outer pad is marked by the letters "A" stamped on the ends for attachment to slide pegs.

    NOTE:

    Connect the scan tool to the vehicle and go to the "unit BSM / EPB". Go to the menu "actuators" and launch the procedure "maintenance mode".

    NOTE:

    Run the procedure "setback piston brake calipers".

    NOTE:

    At the end of the brake caliper assembly, launch the procedure "check assembly electric parking brake".

  3. Install the rear caliper. Refer to CALIPER, DISC BRAKE, REAR, INSTALLATION  .
  4. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  5. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
  6. Pump the brake pedal several times to set the pads to the caliper and brake rotor.
    CAUTION:

    When NEW brake pads have been installed, keep in mind that braking effectiveness might be somewhat reduced during the first brake applications following installation.

  7. Check and adjust the brake fluid level in the reservoir.
  8. Road test the vehicle making several stops to wear off any foreign material on the brakes and to seat the brake pads.
