Washer Reservoir: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the filler neck from the washer reservoir. Refer to FILLER NECK, REMOVAL  .
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  4. Remove the fasteners that secure the left front wheel house splash shield to the front bumper fascia.
  5. Remove the washer pump (1) from the washer reservoir without disconnecting the wiring and hoses from the pump. Move the washer pump aside. Refer to PUMP, WINDSHIELD WASHER, REMOVAL  .
  6. Remove the rubber grommet seal from the washer pump mounting hole in the reservoir and discard.
  7. Disconnect the washer fluid level sensor connection (2).
  8. Use a drill to remove the two blind rivets (3a) that secure the washer reservoir (2b) to the outboard side of the left front support structure.
  9. Remove the reservoir from the vehicle (3b).
