Removal And Installation: Installation

- If needed, install the following components:
- Install the bolt and remove the rear engine mount isolator to the suspension crossmember.
- Install the steering gear. Refer to GEAR, INSTALLATION .
- Install the control arms. Refer to ARM, LOWER CONTROL, INSTALLATION .
- Install the stabilizer bar. Refer to STABILIZER BAR, FRONT, INSTALLATION .
- With the tools used during removal, install the crossmember (1a) and tighten the fasteners (1b) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Tighten the fasteners (1) attaching the crossmember to the left and right side panels to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Remove the crossmember lifting device.
- Place a suitable jack under the lower control arm as shown in the figure.
- Tighten the steering gear to the suspension bolts to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Tighten the stabilizer bar to the suspension bolts to the proper specification. Refer to FRONT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Tighten the lower control arm to the suspension bolts to the proper specification. Refer to FRONT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Tighten the reaction rod bolt (1) to the crossmember to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Tighten the reaction rod bolt (2) to the transmission bracket to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the exhaust pipe complete with NEW gasket to the catalytic converter and tighten the NEW fasteners (1) to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS, 1.3L or TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS, 2.4L .
- Install and tighten the exhaust gas pressure tube fitting downstream of the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) (2).
- Install the bolt (3) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS, 1.3L
or TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS, 2.4L

- Install the fasteners (1) attaching the exhaust pipe support brackets to the suspension crossmember and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS, 1.3L
or TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS, 2.4L
.
- Check the integrity of the lower ball joint boot (1).
- Attach the lower control arms to the steering knuckles and tighten the bolts (1) to the proper specification. Refer to FRONT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

- Connect the outer tie rod ends to the steering knuckles and install NEW nuts (1).
- Tighten the nuts (1) to the proper specification. Refer to FRONT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

- Install the stabilizer links (1a) and install NEW nuts (1b).
- Tighten the nuts (1b) to the proper specification. Refer to FRONT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

- Install the lower load beams (1a) and install the bolts (1b).
- Tighten the bolts (1b) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- If equipped, install the reinforcement bracket (1) and install the bolts.
- Install the lower load beam extensions and install the bolts (1).
- Tighten the bolts (1) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the steering shaft onto the steering gear and tighten the NEW bolt (1) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the front fascia. Refer to FASCIA, FRONT, INSTALLATION .
- Install the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, INSTALLATION .
- Install the front wheels. Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
- Check and adjust alignment. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
