Removal - 2.0L, 2.2L, 2.4L

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the air cleaner body. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the air cleaner resonator. Refer to RESONATOR, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL .
  4. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system. Refer to PLUMBING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  5. Remove the nut (3) and the A/C discharge/liquid line manifold (2) from the A/C condenser.

  6. Detach the discharge line (2) from liquid line manifold (3). Remove and discard the O-ring seal and gasket (1).
  7. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened refrigerant line fittings and the condenser and discharge line ports.

  8. Remove the nut (3) that secures the lower A/C suction (4) line to the upper A/C suction line (2).
  9. Disconnect the lower A/C suction line from the upper A/C suction line. Remove and discard the seal.
  10. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened suction line fittings.

  11. Remove the nut (2) and the lower A/C suction/discharge manifold (1) from the A/C compressor and discard the seals.
  12. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened suction/discharge line fitting and the compressor port.
