Resonator, Air Cleaner: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine cover (1).

  3. Disconnect the harness connector (2) from the Inlet Air Temperature (IAT) sensor (3).

  4. Separate the clean air hose from the resonator (1).
  5. Remove the vapor line retainer (4) from the resonator.
  6. Remove the push pin (3) that secures the resonator to the intake manifold.
  7. Pull the resonator straight up off of the two locating pins on the right cylinder head cover. Disengage and remove the resonator from the throttle body inlet.
    NOTE:

    The Grommet on the rear attachment of the resonator may stay on engine. Ensure that the grommet is removed and installed onto the resonator.
