Pump, Engine Oil: Inspection

  1. Remove timing chain cover. Refer to REMOVAL  .
  2. Remove oil pan. Refer to REMOVAL  .
  3. Measure the distance between the tensioner body and the guide shoe as shown in illustration.
  4. If the distance is 10.1 mm (0.397 in.) or greater, replace the chain.
