Rear Center

WARNING:

To avoid serious or fatal injury during and following any seat belt or child restraint anchor service, carefully inspect all seat belts, buckles, mounting hardware, retractors, tether straps, and anchors for proper installation, operation, or damage. Replace any belt that is cut, frayed, or torn. Straighten any belt that is twisted. Tighten any loose fasteners. Replace any belt that has a damaged or ineffective buckle or retractor. Replace any belt that has a bent or damaged latch plate or anchor plate. Replace any child restraint anchor or the unit to which the anchor is integral that has been bent or damaged. Never attempt to repair a seat belt or child restraint component. Always replace damaged or ineffective seat belt and child restraint components with the correct, new and unused replacement parts listed in the Mopar® Parts Catalog. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

NOTE:

All seat belt retractors except the driver side front and the rear center include a switchable automatic locking mechanism. Refer to RETRACTOR, SEAT BELT, DESCRIPTION .

  1. Position the rear center seat belt and retractor unit to the left (60%) seat back panel (1). Be certain to engage the T-tab (2) on the retractor frame into the T-slot in the back panel.
  2. Install the rear center seat belt retractor bolt (3). Tighten the bolt to the proper torque. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  3. Engage the push-in plastic fastener that secures the plastic scabbard (2) of the retractor (3) to the seat back frame.
  4. Engage the seat belt webbing through the slot in the seat belt web guide (1) and position the guide to the top of the seat back frame. Be certain the seat belt webbing between the retractor and the guide is not twisted.
  5. Install the two screws that secure the seat belt web guide to the top of the seat back frame. Tighten the screws securely.

  6. Install the foam and the seat cover (2) to the seat back frame. Refer to COVER, REAR SEAT BACK, 60%, INSTALLATION .
  7. Engage the seat belt webbing through the slot in the seat belt web bezel (1) and position the bezel to the top of the seat back.
  8. Install the two screws that secure the seat belt web bezel (1) to the top of the seat back frame. Tighten the screws securely.

  9. Working from behind the rear seat, position the rear center seat belt lower anchor (1) to the bracket at the back of the seat cushion frame. Be certain the seat belt webbing between the bezel at the top of the seat back and the lower anchor plate is not twisted.
  10. Install the rear center seat belt anchor bolt (2) to the bracket at the back of the seat cushion frame. Tighten the bolt to the proper torque. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  11. Install the left (60%) rear seat in the vehicle. Refer to SEAT, REAR, INSTALLATION .
