Hinge, Liftgate: Removal

- Remove the spoiler (1). Refer to SPOILER, REMOVAL .NOTE:
It is not necessary to remove the liftgate to replace one or both hinges. The hinges can be replaced one at a time.
- Open and support the liftgate with a suitable prop or block.
- If the liftgate is being replaced, remove the liftgate support struts (2) at the liftgate. Refer to PROP ASSEMBLY, POWER, REMOVAL .
- Remove the upper quarter trim panels. Refer to PANEL, QUARTER TRIM, REMOVAL .
- Lower the rear of the headliner to gain access to the hinge fasteners.
- Remove the bolts (1) that secure the hinge to the liftgate.
- Remove the hinges (2) from the vehicle.
