Timing Belt Idler Pulley: Installation

1 - CAMSHAFT SPROCKETS

2 - INJECTION PUMP SPROCKET

NOTE: Rotate the engine to 90 degrees ATDC (Refer to ENGINE/VALVE TIMING - STANDARD PROCEDURE) . The idler pulley bolts are left hand thread.

Install timing belt idler pulleys. Torque bolts to 47.1 N.m. See Fig 1.
Install timing belt (Refer to ENGINE/VALVE TIMING/TIMING BELT/CHAIN AND SPROCKETS - INSTALLATION)
Install timing belt outer cover (Refer to ENGINE/VALVE TIMING/TIMING BELT/CHAIN COVER(S) - INSTALLATION) .
Install vibration damper (Refer to ENGINE/ENGINE BLOCK/VIBRATION DAMPER - INSTALLATION) .
Install cooling fan support (Refer to COOLING/ENGINE/RADIATOR FAN - INSTALLATION) .
Install accessory drive belt (Refer to COOLING/ACCESSORY DRIVE/DRIVE BELTS - INSTALLATION) .
Install cooling fan and fan drive viscous clutch assembly. Refer toRADIATOR - FAN - VISCOUS .
Install engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER .
Connect negative battery cable.
