Installation - Oil Pump

- Lubricate oil pump rotor with engine oil.
- Install oil pump in bore in engine block. See Fig 1.
- Install oil pump retaining bolts. Torque bolts to 10.8 N.m. (96 in. lbs.). See Fig 1.
- Install crankshaft sprocket. Torque bolts to 10.8 N.m. (96 in. lbs.). See Fig 1.
1 - FRONT ENGINE COVER 2 - SEAL 3 - TIMING BELT INNER COVER 4 - LOWER TIMING BELT GEAR - Install front engine cover and seal (Refer to ENGINE/ENGINE BLOCK/ENGINE COVER - INSTALLATION) .
- Install timing belt inner cover (Refer to ENGINE/VALVE TIMING/TIMING BELT/CHAIN COVER(S) - INSTALLATION) .
- Install the lower timing belt gear and hand tighten fastener. See Fig 2.
1 - SPECIAL TOOL # 6958 2 - WRENCH - Connect special tool #6958 to the lower timing gear using the vibration damper bolts and tighten the timing gear fastener to 275 N.m (203 ft. lbs). See Fig 3.
- Remove special tool #6958.
- Install timing belt (Refer to ENGINE/VALVE TIMING/TIMING BELT/CHAIN AND SPROCKETS - INSTALLATION) .
- Install timing belt outer cover (Refer to ENGINE/VALVE TIMING/TIMING BELT/CHAIN COVER(S) - INSTALLATION) .
- Install vibration damper (Refer to ENGINE/ENGINE BLOCK/VIBRATION DAMPER - INSTALLATION) .
- Install power steering pump pulley.
- Install cooling fan support (Refer to COOLING/ENGINE/RADIATOR FAN - INSTALLATION) .
- Install accessory drive belt (Refer to COOLING/ACCESSORY DRIVE/DRIVE BELTS - INSTALLATION) .
- Install cooling fan and fan drive viscous clutch assembly. Refer to RADIATOR - FAN - VISCOUS .
- Connect negative battery cable.
