Test TC-167B - Governor Pressure Sensor Volts Too Low

CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE: Perform TEST TC-167A  before proceeding. For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS . Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect transmission solenoid connector. Inspect connector and terminals for damage. Repair connector and terminals as necessary. If connector and terminals are okay, go to next step.
  2. Using an external ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminal No. 4 on transmission solenoid connector and engine ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in governor pressure sensor signal circuit. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Measure resistance between terminals No. 2 and 4 on transmission solenoid connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step 5). If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
  4. Ensure Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connectors are disconnected. Measure resistance between terminal No. 4 on transmission solenoid connector and terminal No. 29 on PCM white connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open governor pressure sensor signal circuit. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, perform TEST TC-167C .
  5. Disconnect PCM connectors. Inspect connectors and terminals for damage. Repair connectors and terminals as necessary. If connectors and terminals are okay, go to next step.
  6. Measure resistance between terminals No. 2 and 4 on transmission solenoid connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair governor pressure sensor signal circuit for a short to 5-volt supply circuit. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace PCM.
