Test 7A - Governor Pressure Sensor Signal (DTC 14)

NOTE:
Perform TEST 2A

after each repair.
NOTE:
Governor Pressure Sensor may also be referred to Governor Pressure Transducer.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, monitor PRESSURE SENSE. If voltage is 0-.1 volt, go to step 3) . If voltage is 4-5 volts, go to TEST 7B. If voltage is .4-1 volt, go to next step.
- Raise and support vehicle. Start vehicle. Place shift lever in OD position. Allow wheels to rotate. Monitor scan tool while varying vehicle speed. If scan tool reading fluctuates with vehicle speed changes, system is currently functioning correctly. Go to TEST 2A . If reading does not fluctuate, repeat step 1).
- Disconnect transmission 8-pin connector. If voltage is 4-5 volts, replace governor pressure sensor. If voltage is not 4-5 volts, turn ignition off. Disconnect Transmission Control Module (TCM) connector.
- Use scan tool in ohmmeter mode. Measure resistance at terminal No. E3 on TCM connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair governor pressure signal circuit for short to ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace TCM.
