Test 4A - No Engine Speed Sensor Signal (DTC 11)

NOTE:
Perform TEST 2A

. Perform TEST 3A - VERIFICATION TEST
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Transmission Control Module (TCM) connector. Use scan tool in ohmmeter mode. Measure resistance at terminal No. E6 on TCM connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step 3). If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Connect jumper wire between ground and terminal No. 43 on PCM connector. Use scan tool in ohmmeter mode. Measure resistance at terminal No. E6 on TCM connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace TCM. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open tachometer signal circuit.
- Disconnect instrument cluster connectors. Use scan tool in ohmmeter mode. Measure resistance at terminal No. E6 on TCM connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair tachometer signal circuit for short to ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair or replace instrument cluster as needed.
