Test 16A - Governor Pressure Sensor Offset Drift (DTC 26)

NOTE:
Perform TEST 2A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION

. Perform TEST 3A - VERIFICATION TEST
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect transmission 8-pin connector. Turn ignition on. Use scan tool in voltmeter mode. Measure voltage at terminal No. 2 on 8-pin connector. If voltage is 4-5 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not 4-5 volts, go to step 4).
- Use scan tool in ohmmeter mode. Measure resistance at terminal No. 3 on 8-pin connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace governor pressure transducer. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Transmission Control Module (TCM). Connect jumper wire between ground and terminal No. E11 on TCM connector. Measure resistance at terminal No. 3 on transmission 8-pin connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace TCM. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open sensor ground.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Transmission Control Module (TCM). Use scan tool in ohmmeter mode. Measure resistance at terminal No. 2 on 8-pin connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair 5-volt supply circuit for short to ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Use external ohmmeter. Measure resistance between terminal No. 2 on 8-pin connector and terminal No. E10 on TCM connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace TCM. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open 5-volt supply circuit.
