WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see Figure .
NOTE: Perform TEST 2A  before proceeding.
  1. Ensure ignition is on. Remove and inspect 15-amp fuse No. 21. If 15-amp fuse No. 21 is good, go to next step. If fuse is open, using DRB in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at VTA module connector terminal No. 3 (White/Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair a short to ground in White/Black wire circuit and replace 15-amp fuse No. 21. Perform TEST VER-1A  . If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace 15-amp fuse No. 21. Perform TEST VER-1A  .
  2. Using DRB in voltmeter mode, measure voltage at ignition switch feed circuit of 15-amp fuse No. 21 receptacle (Dark Blue/Gray wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open circuit between 15-amp fuse No. 21 receptacle and ignition switch (Dark Blue/Gray wire). Perform TEST VER-1A  . If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open circuit between 15-amp fuse No. 21 and VTA module connector terminal No. 3 (White/Black wire). Perform TEST VER-1A  .
