Pinpoint Test G: Power Tailgate Actuator Test

- G1: POWER TAILGATE ACTUATOR TEST
- With the tailgate in the fully closed position operate a tailgate release switch and check to see if the latch releases.
Did the tailgate latch release?
Yes : GO to G2.
No : GO to PINPOINT TEST D .
- G2: POWER TAILGATE ACTUATOR TEST
- Observe the operation of the tailgate
Does the tailgate stop immediately after latch release? Are three audible beeps heard from the RGTM ?
Yes : GO to G3.
No : GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
- G3: POWER TAILGATE ACTUATOR TEST
- Check for a low battery warning
Is the vehicle displaying 'Low battery' warning indicator in the vehicle IPC
Yes : Charge the vehicle battery and retest Refer to: BATTERY CARE REQUIREMENTS .
No : GO to G4.
- G4: POWER TAILGATE ACTUATOR TEST
- Fully close the tailgate, operate a tailgate release switch and manually assist the tailgate at the point of failure.
When assisted past the point of failure, does the tailgate continue to operate correctly?
Yes : GO to PINPOINT TEST H .
No : GO to PINPOINT TEST H . step 3
