Diagnostic Procedure

  1. CONFIRM THE SYMPTOM 

    Check if vehicle creeps in "R" position.

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO 2.
    2. NG: Refer to "VEHICLE DOES NOT CREEP BACKWARD IN "R" POSITION ".
  2. CHECK SELF-DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS 

    Perform self-diagnosis. Refer to "SELF-DIAGNOSTIC RESULT MODE ". Is any malfunction detected by self-diagnostic results?

    1. YES: Check the malfunctioning system.
    2. NO: GO TO 3.
  3. CHECK ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION (APP) SENSOR 

    Check accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor. Refer to "DTC P1705 THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR "

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO 4.
    2. NG: Repair or replace accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor.
  4. CHECK A/T FLUID LEVEL 

    Check A/T fluid level. Refer to "CHECKING A/T FLUID ".

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO 5.
    2. NG: Refill ATF.
  5. CHECK LINE PRESSURE 

    Check line pressure at the engine stall point. Refer to "LINE PRESSURE TEST ".

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO  8.
    2. NG - 1: Line pressure high. GO TO 6.
    3. NG - 2: Line pressure low. GO TO  7.
  6. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM 
    1. Check control valve with TCM. Refer to "CONTROL VALVE WITH TCM AND A/T FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR 2 ".
    2. Disassemble A/T. Refer to "DISASSEMBLY ".
    3. Check the following items:
      • Oil pump assembly. Refer to "OIL PUMP ".

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO  8.
    2. NG: Repair or replace damaged parts.
  7. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM 
    1. Check control valve with TCM. Refer to "CONTROL VALVE WITH TCM AND A/T FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR 2 ".
    2. Disassemble A/T. Refer to "DISASSEMBLY ".
    3. Check the following items:

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO 8.
    2. NG: Repair or replace damaged parts.
  8. CHECK A/T FLUID CONDITION

    1. Remove oil pan. Refer to "CONTROL VALVE WITH TCM AND A/T FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR 2 ".
    2. Check A/T fluid condition. Refer to "FLUID CONDITION CHECK ".

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO 9.
    2. NG: GO TO  12.
  9. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM 
    • Check the malfunction items. If any items are damaged, repair or replace damaged parts. Refer to "SYMPTOM CHART " (Symptom No. 23).

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO 10.
    2. NG: Repair or replace damaged parts.
  10. CHECK SYMPTOM 

    Check again. Refer to "CRUISE TEST - PART 1 ", "CRUISE TEST - PART 2 ".

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: INSPECTION END 
    2. NG: GO TO 11.
  11. PERFORM TCM INSPECTION 
    1. Perform TCM input/output signals inspection. Refer to "TCM INPUT/OUTPUT SIGNAL REFERENCE VALUES ".
    2. If NG, recheck A/T assembly harness connector terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: INSPECTION END 
    2. NG: Repair or replace damaged parts.
  12. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM 
    • Check the malfunction items. If any items are damaged, repair or replace damaged parts. Refer to "SYMPTOM CHART " (Symptom No. 23).

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO  10.
    2. NG: Repair or replace damaged parts.
