Control Oil Replacement

* Dual Clutch Transmission Control Oil Replacement Procedure

  1. Stop the engine and wait for at least 5 minutes.
  2. Lift the vehicle horizontally using the lift.
  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
  4. Remove the filler plug (A). (Tightening torque: 34.3 to 44.1 N.m (3.5 to 4.5 kgf.m, 25.3 to 32.5 lb.ft)
    NOTE:
    • Refer to oil replacement procedure due to drained oil quantity can be more or less than oil capacity.
    • Other oils will lead to malfunctions or failure of the DCT.
    • Specification: 2.45 to 2.51 (0.65 to 0.66 U.S gal., 2.59 to 2.64 U.S.qt., 2.16 to 2.20 Imp.qt.)

  5. Remove the under cover.
  6. Remove the drain plug (A) and wait for over 10 minutes until the oil is drained enough and then reinstall the drain plug.

    (Tightening torque: 34.3 to 44.1 N.m (3.5 to 4.5 kgf.m, 25.3 to 32.5 lb.ft))

  7. Fill 1.8 to 1.91 (0.47 to 0.50 U.S gal., 1.90 to 2.00 U.S.qt., 1.58 to 1.67 Imp.qt.) of new oil through the filler plug hole after lowering the vehicle. (Specification: Kia Genuine oil)
  8. Install the filler plug and air cleaner assembly.
  9. Start the engine and drive the vehicle forward and reverse at least once.
  10. Refill the DCT with oil while checking the oil level.
    NOTE: Genuine oil is a genuine product developed for the optimal performance of the wet DCT. If the genuine oil is not used, serious problems may occur in the DCT.

    Good 

    No Good 

    • For "lack", add the appropriate amount of control oil and measure the level again.
    • If the MIL up even after supplementing the oil, conduct a visual inspection of the external leakage.
    • If the warning lamp is constantly illuminated even though there is no external leakage of oil, check the internal leakage and change the transmission.
    • For "No Good", If the same symptom repeats after supplementing the control oil, replace the transmission.
    • Go to "VEHICLE S/W MANAGEMENT " and than "Verification Of Repair" procedure.
