Hood Latch Release Cable Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Remove the headlamps. Refer to Headlamp Replacement (Non HID) or Headlamp Replacement (Yukon) or Headlamp Replacement (Tahoe, Avalanche) or Headlamp Replacement (Cadillac Escalade) . Remove the grille support. Refer to Support Replacement - Radiator Grille Reinforcement . Remove the hood release handle. Refer to Hood Latch Release Handle Replacement .
1	Hood Latch Release Cable Nut NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice . Tighten: 9 N.m (80 lb in)
2	Hood Latch Release Cable Tip: Release the cable from the latch assembly and pull through the dash panel. Attach mechanics wire to existing cable to ease installation of the new cable.

Tighten: 9 N.m (80 lb in)

Tip:

Release the cable from the latch assembly and pull through the dash panel.
Attach mechanics wire to existing cable to ease installation of the new cable.
