Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2008 GMC Yukon XL, 2008 GMC Yukon, 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2008 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the power steering fluid cooler to the vehicle.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Install the power steering fluid cooler bolts (2) to the power steering fluid cooler (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  5. Connect the power steering fluid cooler hose (3) to the power steering pump (1).
  6. Connect the power steering gear outlet hose (2) to the power steering fluid cooler (4).
  7. Clean any excess fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
  8. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  9. Install the radiator grille reinforcement support, if equipped. Refer to Radiator Grille Reinforcement Support Replacement .
  10. Install the fascia grille. Refer to Fascia Grille Replacement (Z71) or Fascia Grille Replacement (Suburban, Tahoe) or Fascia Grille Replacement (Escalade) or Fascia Grille Replacement (Yukon) or Fascia Grille Replacement (GMC Yukon Two-mode Hybrid) .
