  1. A.-

    WARNING: 

    Do not connect the brake pedal position switch connector with the brake pedal position switch removed. The engine may start if the start/stop button is pressed as the system interprets that the brake pedal is depressed. Unintended starting of the engine is dangerous.

    1 Tighten All nuts
    2 Tighten Bolt (b) -

    • Install the lock pin as shown. (Figure 2)

    After Installation

    NOTE:  The APP sensor is not available separately. Do not disassemble the accelerator pedal module.

    Key Information 

    Do the following before starting your work.

    Remove:

    • Cut the carpet in the area (a) as shown.
    • Remove the harness clips (b).

    WARNING:

    NOTICE: 

    If you are replacing the rear safing sensor after a deployment, refer to Component Replacement/Inspection After Deployment - Refer to: Airbag and Tensioner Disposal () or SRS Component Replacement/Inspection After Deployment () for a complete list of other parts that must also be replaced.

    Key Information 

    Do the following before starting your work.

    Remove:

    NOTICE: 

    Be careful not to bump (by impact wrench, hammer, etc.) the area around the rear safing sensor.
