  1. A.-

    Preconditions 

    • Brake Fluid Drained

      NOTE:  Drain the brake fluid from the reservoir with a syringe.

    Key Information 

    Do the following before starting your work.

    Remove:

    • Brake Fluid Drained

      NOTE:  Drain the brake fluid from the reservoir with a syringe.

    Key Information 

    Do the following before starting your work.

    After Installation 

  3. C.-

    NOTICE: 

    Do not try to disassemble the master cylinder.

    Preconditions 

    • Brake Fluid Drained

      NOTE:  Drain the brake fluid from the reservoir with a syringe.

    Key Information 

    Do the following before starting your work.

    Remove: 

    Sub-Procedure 

    NOTICE: 

    Be careful when handling the master cylinder. Do not hold it at the piston, or the piston may separate from the body. If the piston separates from the body, then the master cylinder must be replaced. Do not reinsert the piston back into the master cylinder body.

    After Installation

    Preconditions 

    Key Information 

    Do the following before starting your work.

    Remove:

    Removal 

    • Refer to figure 1.

      NOTICE: 

      Be careful not to damage the electric brake booster surfaces and the threads of the stud bolts.

    Installation 

    1. Loosen the bolt (a). (Figure 2)

    2. Tighten the nuts. (Figure 2)

    Tightening Procedure (Figure 2) 

    Operation Object Specification
    Tighten All nuts

    3. Tighten the bolt .

    4. Apply the following grease to the clevis pin. (Figure 2)

    Lubricant Specifications (Figure 2) 

    Position Type
    b Multipurpose Grease

    5. Install the lock pin as shown. (Figure 3)

    After Installation

    Preconditions 

    Sub-Procedure 

    NOTICE: 

    • Do not damage or drop the VSA modulator-control unit as it is sensitive.
    • Do not use power tools when removing/installing the VSA modulator-control unit.

    Installation 

    • Connect the brake lines according to the following table.

    Assembly Position Details 

    Position Access Point
    a Master Cylinder
    Position Access Point
    b Right-Rear Brake
    c Left-Front Brake
    d Right-Front Brake
    e Left-Rear Brake

    After Installation 

  6. F.-

    ? Preconditions 

    • Brake Fluid Drained

      NOTE:  Drain the brake fluid from the reservoir with a syringe.
