DTC : B2648
DTC B2648 : Front Sensor Signal Short to Ground
NOTE:
- If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A - Go to: Body Electrical Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A - Initial Communication and DTC Checks .
- The count of the number of the sensor starts from the sensor near to the control unit.

DTC (Parking and Back-Up Sensor Control Unit)
- Problem verification
- 1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
Clear DTCs
- 2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode and then the ON mode.
- 3. Wait for at least 6 seconds.
- 4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC B2648 Front sensor signal short to ground Is DTC B2648 indicated?
YES
Go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.
- Shorted wire check (FSS L, FSG L lines) 1
- 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connector.
Parking and back-up sensor control unit 16P connector - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition OFF (LOCK) mode
Parking and back-up sensor control unit 16P connector: disconnectedTest point 1 Parking and back-up sensor control unit 16P connector No. 6 - Refer to:
Parking and Back-Up Sensor Control Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2016 2017 2018) or
Parking and Back-Up Sensor Control Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2019 2020 2021) .Test point 2 Parking and back-up sensor control unit 16P connector No. 13 - Refer to:
Parking and Back-Up Sensor Control Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2016 2017 2018) or
Parking and Back-Up Sensor Control Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2019 2020 2021) .Is there continuity?
YES
Go to step 3.
NO
Go to step 6.
- Shorted wire check (FSS R, FSG R lines) 1
- 1. Disconnect the following connector.
Right front corner sensor 6P connector - 2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition OFF (LOCK) mode
Parking and back-up sensor control unit 16P connector: disconnected
Right front corner sensor 6P connector: disconnectedTest point 1 Right front corner sensor 6P connector (female terminals) No. 3: (1) Test point 2 Right front center sensor 6P connector (female terminals) No. 1: (1) Is there continuity?
YES
Go to step 4.
NO
Go to step 5.
- Shorted wire check (FSS R, FSG R lines) 2
- 1. Disconnect the following connector.
Left front corner sensor 6P connector - 2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition OFF (LOCK) mode
Parking and back-up sensor control unit 16P connector: disconnected
Right front corner sensor 6P connector: disconnected
Left front corner sensor 6P connector: disconnectedTest point 1 Right front corner sensor 6P connector (female terminals) No. 3: (1) Test point 2 Right front corner sensor 6P connector (female terminals) No. 1: (1) Is there continuity?
YES
Repair a short in the FSS R and FSG R wires between the right front corner sensor and the left front corner sensor.
NO
Replace the left Front Corner Sensor .
- Shorted wire check (FSS L, FSG L lines) 2
- 1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition OFF (LOCK) mode
Parking and back-up sensor control unit 16P connector: disconnected
Right front corner sensor 6P connector: disconnectedTest point 1 Parking and back-up sensor control unit 16P connector No. 6 - Refer to:
Parking and Back-Up Sensor Control Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2016 2017 2018) or
Parking and Back-Up Sensor Control Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2019 2020 2021) .Test point 2 Parking and back-up sensor control unit 16P connector No. 13 - Refer to:
Parking and Back-Up Sensor Control Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2016 2017 2018) or
Parking and Back-Up Sensor Control Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2019 2020 2021) .Is there continuity?
YES
Repair a short in the FSS L and FSG L wires between the parking and back-up sensor control unit and the right front corner sensor.
NO
Replace the right Front Corner Sensor .
- Shorted wire check (FSS L line)
- 1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition OFF (LOCK) mode
Parking and back-up sensor control unit 16P connector: disconnectedTest point 1 Parking and back-up sensor control unit 16P connector No. 6 - Refer to:
Parking and Back-Up Sensor Control Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2016 2017 2018) or
Parking and Back-Up Sensor Control Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2019 2020 2021) .Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
Repair a short to ground in the FSS L wire.
NO
Replace the Parking and Back-Up Sensor Control Unit .
