DTC U0155  : F-CAN Malfunction (Battery Condition Monitor Module - Gauge Control Module)

DTC U1207  : F-CAN Malfunction (Battery Condition Monitor Module - Electric A/C Compressor)

DTC U1600  : F-CAN Malfunction (Battery Condition Monitor Module - PCM)

NOTE:

DTC (Electric Powertrain)

  1. CAN gateway system DTC check

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -2. Check for CAN gateway system DTCs with the HDS.

    DTC (CAN GATEWAY)

    Are any DTCs indicated?

    YES 

    Go to the troubleshooting for CAN gateway system DTC(s) .

    NO 

    Go to step 2.

  2. F-CAN circuit communication check (Receiving control unit)

    -1. Select the FUNCTION TEST in the CAN gateway with the HDS, then select the F-CAN Bus Connected Unit Check.

    Does the battery condition monitor module detect the CAN gateway Bus channel A?

    Bus A is Not Available

    Go to step 3.

    Bus A is Available

    Go to step 4.

  3. Open wire check (F-CAN A_H line, F-CAN A_L line)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Remove the service plug and the IPU cover .

    -3. Disconnect the following connectors.

    Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P)
    CAN gateway 16P connector

    -4. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
    Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P): disconnected
    CAN gateway 16P connector: disconnected
    Test point 1 Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P) No. 9
    Test point 2 CAN gateway 16P connector (female terminals) No. 3:
    Test point 1 Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P) No. 8
    Test point 2 CAN gateway 16P connector (female terminals) No. 11:

    Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

    YES 

    The F-CAN A_H wire and the F-CAN A_L wire are OK. Replace the battery condition monitor module .

    NO 

    Repair an open in the F-CAN A_H wire or the F-CAN A_L wire between the battery condition monitor module and the CAN gateway.

  4. F-CAN circuit communication check (Transmitting control unit)

    -1. Select the FUNCTION TEST in the CAN gateway with the HDS, then select the F-CAN Bus Connected Unit Check.

    According to the detected DTC on the following table, make sure that the transmitting control unit detects the CAN gateway Bus channel(s) normally.

    Is it detected normally?

    U0155: Gauge control module is Not Available for Bus D

    Go to step 7.

    U1207: Electric A/C compressor is Not Available for Bus D

    Go to step 7.

    U1600: PCM is Not Available for Bus A

    Go to step 5.

    U1600: PCM is Not Available for Bus B

    Go to step 6.

    Detected normal

    Intermittent failure. The system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the transmitting control unit, the battery condition monitor module, and the CAN gateway.

  5. Open wire check (F-CAN A_H line, F-CAN A_L line)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. DTC U1600: Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

    -3. According to the detected DTC on the following table, disconnect the transmitting control unit connector(s).

    -4. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

      CAN gateway 16P connector: disconnected
      Transmitting control unit connector(s) for indicated DTCs: disconnected

    Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

    YES 

    The F-CAN A_H wire and the F-CAN A_L wire are OK.According to the detected DTC on the following table, update, substitute, or replace the correspond control unit.

    DTC Operation for transmitting control unit
    U1600 Replace the PCM .

    NO 

    Repair an open in the F-CAN A_H wire or the F-CAN A_L wire between the transmitting control unit and the CAN gateway.

  6. Open wire check (F-CAN B_H line, F-CAN B_L line)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. DTC U1600: Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

    -3. According to the detected DTC on the following table, disconnect the transmitting control unit connector(s).

    -4. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

      CAN gateway 16P connector: disconnected
      Transmitting control unit connector(s) for indicated DTCs: disconnected

    Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

    YES 

    The F-CAN B_H wire and the F-CAN B_L wire are OK. According to the detected DTC on the following table, update, substitute, or replace the correspond control unit.

    DTC Operation for transmitting control unit
    U1600 Replace the PCM .

    NO 

    Repair an open in the F-CAN B_H wire or the F-CAN B_L wire between the transmitting control unit and the CAN gateway.

  7. Open wire check (F-CAN D_H line, F-CAN D_L line)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. According to the detected DTC on the following table, disconnect the transmitting control unit connector(s).

    U1207 Electric A/C compressor 4P connector

    -3. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

    YES 

    The F-CAN D_H wire and the F-CAN D_L wire are OK.According to the detected DTC on the following table, update, substitute, or replace the correspond control unit.

    DTC Operation for transmitting control unit
    U0155 Replace the gauge control module .
    U1207 Replace the electric A/C compressor .

    NO 

    Repair an open in the F-CAN D_H wire or the F-CAN D_L wire between the transmitting control unit and the CAN gateway.
