DTC U1206 : EP-CAN Malfunction (Traction Motor Control Module - Battery Condition Monitor Module)
NOTE:
- Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .
- According to the detected DTC(s), check for the power circuit and the ground circuit of the control unit which cannot communicate with the motor control module.

DTC (Electric Powertrain)
- Problem verification
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-5. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame U1204 EP-CAN Malfunction (Traction Motor Control Module - PCM) U1206 EP-CAN Malfunction (Traction Motor Control Module - Battery Condition Monitor Module) Is DTC U1204 or DTC U1206 indicated?
YES
Go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure. The system is OK at this time. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.
- Open wire check (EP-CAN A_H line, EP-CAN A_L line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. DTC U1204: Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.
-3. Do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure .
-4. DTC U1206: Remove the service plug and the IPU cover .
-5. Disconnect the following connectors.
PCU 33P connector DTC U1204: PCM connector A (50P) DTC U1206: Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P) -6. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

YES
The EP-CAN A_H wire and the EP-CAN A_L wire are OK.
According to the detected DTC on the following table, substitute, or replace the corresponding unit.
DTC Operation for transmitting control unit U1204 Replace the PCM . U1206 Replace the battery condition monitor module . NO
Repair an open in the EP-CAN A_H wire or the EP-CAN A_L wire between the transmitting control unit and the PCU.
