DTC P1D9A : PCU Electric Coolant Pump Circuit
NOTE:
- Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .
- At a cold district, low concentration coolant can cause this DTC.
- After troubleshooting, do the PCU coolant air bleeding procedure .

DTC (Electric Powertrain)
- Problem verification
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-3. Check the coolant level and the coolant concentration .
-4. Select the ELECTRIC WATER PUMP TEST in the Electric Powertrain FUNCTION TEST with the HDS. Then do the START.
Electric Water Pump Test
-5. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame P1D9A PCU Electric Coolant Pump Circuit Is DTC P1D9A indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
NO
Go to step 3.
- Shorted wire check (PCU_W/P_EWP/EWP line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure .
-3. Disconnect the following connectors.
PCU electric coolant pump 4P connector PCU 33P connector -4. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode PCU electric coolant pump 4P connector: disconnected PCU 33P connector: disconnected Test point 1 PCU electric coolant pump 4P connector (female terminals) No. 3: Test point 2 Body ground Is there 1 MΩ or more?
YES
Replace the PCU electric coolant pump , then recheck. If DTC P1D9A is still indicated, replace the PCU .
NO
Repair a short in the PCU_W/P_EWP/EWP wire between the PCU electric coolant pump and the PCU.
- Cooling system check
-1. Do the PCU coolant circuit inspection .
Is it OK?
YES
Go to step 4.
NO
Repair or replace parts as needed.
- PCU electric coolant pump operation check
-1. Do the PCU coolant air bleeding procedure .
-2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-3. Select the ELECTRIC WATER PUMP TEST in the Electric Powertrain FUNCTION TEST with the HDS. Then do the START.
Electric Water Pump Test
-4. Check the parameter(s) below with the HDS.

YES
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.
NO
Replace the PCU electric coolant pump , then recheck. If DTC P1D9A is still indicated, replace the PCU .
