PCU Coolant Circuit Inspection
NOTE: Before testing, check for DTCs. If any DTCs are indicated, troubleshoot the indicated DTCs first.
Visual check
Check that the opening of the front bumper is not blocked with dust, and clean it if needed.
Check the radiator, the A/C condenser, and the fan shroud assembly for the following conditions, and repair them if needed:
- Broken or deformed radiator
- Fins of radiator and A/C condenser are blocked with dust
- Broken or deformed radiator fan, or broken or deformed fan shroud
- Radiator fun contacting with a fan shroud
- Corrosion of radiator fan motor
- Debris in the fans
Cooling circuit check:
Check for these conditions at the cooling line, and repair if needed:
3. Expansion tank cap check
Test the expansion tank cap, and replace it if needed .
DTC check (PCU electric coolant pump)
-2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-3. Select the Electric Powertrain in the System Selection Menu.
-4. Clear any stored DTCs.
-5. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-6. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-7. Select the ELECTRIC WATER PUMP TEST in the Electric Powertrain FUNCTION TEST with the HDS, then select START.
Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
- DTC is indicated: Do the indicated DTC(s) troubleshooting.
