DTC P1D8C : Generator Motor Inverter Over Current
WARNING:
This procedure includes high voltage measurements with the electric powertrain system turned on. To avoid serious injury from electrical shocks while testing the high voltage cable, use insulated gloves, select a DC range of 500 V or more on your digital multimeter, and be careful not to contact each tester probes and not to contact any metal parts while you measure the high voltage cable.

- Problem verification
-1. Test-drive the vehicle in the range of the recorded freeze data parameters.
Freeze Data
-2. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P1D8C in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.
DTC Description OBD STATUS P1D8C Generator Motor Inverter Over Current Does the HDS indicate FAILED?
YES
Go to step 3.
NO
Go to step 2.
- DTC check
-1. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame P1D8A Generator Motor Inverter Gate Line Open Is DTC P1D8A indicated?
YES
Go to the DTC P1D8A troubleshooting .
NO
Intermittent failure. The system is OK at this time. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.
- Generator motor check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Remove the service plug .
-3. Remove the PCU .
-4. At the generator motor 3-phase terminals side, measure the resistance between the following test points individually.

When measuring terminals, make sure to use an ohmmeter that is capable of measuring milli-ohm range. Make sure to take the measurement when the transmission temperature is about 68°F (20°C) (rated resistance value is at 68°F (20°C)) as the resistance figures may vary.

Faulty generator motor. Replace the transmission (e-CVT) assembly .
