Rearview camera image does not change when selecting different views

NOTE: 

  1. Problem verification

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -2. Shift the transmission to R position/mode.

    -3. Operate the audio unit to see if the rearview image changes between the wide view, the normal view, and the top down view.

    Does the rearview camera image change properly?

    YES 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

    NO 

    The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.

  2. Shorted wire check (CAMERA_BIT0 line, CAMERA_BIT1 line)

    -1. Shift the transmission to Neutral or P position/mode.

    -2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -3. Disconnect the following connectors.

    Audio-navigation unit connector C (32P) (with navigation)
    Audio unit connector C (32P) (without navigation)
    Rearview camera 8P connector

    -4. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Audio-navigation unit connector C (32P) (with navigation): disconnected
    Audio unit connector C (32P) (without navigation): disconnected
      Rearview camera 8P connector: disconnected
    Test point 1 Audio-navigation unit connector C (32P) (with navigation) No. 31
      Audio unit connector C (32P) (without navigation) No. 31
    Test point 2 Body ground
    Test point 1 Audio-navigation unit connector C (32P) (with navigation) No. 32
      Audio unit connector C (32P) (without navigation) No. 32
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there 1.0 MΩ or more?

    YES 

    The CAMERA_BIT0 and the CAMERA_BIT1 wires are not shorted to ground. Go to step 3.

    NO 

    Repair a short to body ground in the wire(s).

  3. Shorted wire check (CAMERA_BIT0 line to CAMERA_BIT1 line)

    -1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Audio-navigation unit connector C (32P) (with navigation): disconnected
    Audio unit connector C (32P) (without navigation): disconnected
      Rearview camera 8P connector: disconnected
    Test point 1 Audio-navigation unit connector C (32P) (with navigation) No. 31
      Audio unit connector C (32P) (without navigation) No. 31
    Test point 2 Audio-navigation unit connector C (32P) (with navigation) No. 32
      Audio unit connector C (32P) (without navigation) No. 32

    Is there 1.0 MΩ or more?

    YES 

    The CAMERA_BIT0 and the CAMERA_BIT1 wires are not shorted. Go to step 4.

    NO 

    Repair a short in the wires.

  4. Open wire check (CAMERA_BIT0 line, CAMERA_BIT1 line)

    -1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Audio-navigation unit connector C (32P) (with navigation): disconnected
    Audio unit connector C (32P) (without navigation): disconnected
      Rearview camera 8P connector: disconnected
    Test point 1 Audio-navigation unit connector C (32P) (with navigation) No. 31
      Audio unit connector C (32P) (without navigation) No. 31
    Test point 2 Rearview camera 8P connector No. 3
    Test point 1 Audio-navigation unit connector C (32P) (with navigation) No. 32
      Audio unit connector C (32P) (without navigation) No. 32
    Test point 2 Rearview camera 8P connector No. 4

    Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

    YES 

    The CAMERA_BIT0 and the CAMERA_BIT1 wires are OK. Go to step 5.

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire(s).

  5. Voltage check (CAMERA_BIT0 line)

    -1. Reconnect the following connectors.

    Audio-navigation unit connector C (32P) (with navigation)
    Audio unit connector C (32P) (without navigation)
    Rearview camera 8P connector

    -2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -3. Shift the transmission to R position/mode.

    -4. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2 as specified in the table.

    Test point 1 Audio-navigation unit connector C (32P) (with navigation) No. 31
      Audio unit connector C (32P) (without navigation) No. 31
    Test point 2 Body ground
    Selected view mode Voltage
    Wide View 0 V
    Normal View About 5 V - 8 V
    Top Down View 0 V

    Is the voltage OK?

    YES 

    Go to step 6.

    NO: With navigation

    Replace the audio-navigation unit .

    NO: Without navigation

    Replace the audio unit .

  6. Voltage check (CAMERA_BIT1 line)

    -1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2 as specified in the table.

    Test point 1 Audio-navigation unit connector C (32P) (with navigation) No. 32
      Audio unit connector C (32P) (without navigation) No. 32
    Test point 2 Body ground
    Selected view mode Voltage
    Wide View 0 V
    Normal View 0 V
    Top Down View About 5 V - 8 V

    Is the voltage OK?

    YES 

    Replace the rearview camera .

    NO: With navigation

    Replace the audio-navigation unit .

    NO: Without navigation

    Replace the audio unit .
