Fan, Fan Motor, and Shroud Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Remove the air intake scoop (see step 1 on INTAKE AIR RESONATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  2. Remove the front bulkhead cover (see FRONT BULKHEAD COVER REPLACEMENT ).
  3. Disconnect the A/C condenser fan motor connector (A), and coolant reservoir hose (B), then remove the coolant reservoir hose from the clamps (C).

  4. Remove the radiator brackets (A) and the condenser brackets (B).

  5. Remove the front grille bolts (C).
  6. Remove the A/C condenser fan shroud assembly (A).

  7. Disconnect the radiator fan motor connector (A) and remove the harness clamps (B).

  8. Raise the vehicle on the lift.
  9. Remove the splash shield (see FRONT SPLASH SHIELD REPLACEMENT ).
  10. Remove the ATF cooler hoses bracket bolt (A) and loosen the bolt (B).

  11. Lower the vehicle on the lift.
  12. With security system: Disconnect the hood latch switch connector (A).

  13. Remove the hood latch (B) with the wire.
  14. Remove the radiator fan shroud assembly (A).
    NOTE: Pull-up the radiator, then move the radiator fan shroud assembly toward the right side of the vehicle to allow for enough space to lift it up and away from the A/C condenser fan shroud assembly.

  15. Disassemble the fan shrouds.
