Side Curtain Airbag Replacement: Removal

NOTE:

If replacing the side curtain airbag after deployment, refer to COMPONENT REPLACEMENT/INSPECTION AFTER DEPLOYMENT for a complete list of other parts that must also be replaced.
Review the interior trim replacement procedure before doing repair or service (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ).
Removal of the side curtain airbag must be done according to Precautions and Procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ).

Do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure (see 12 VOLT BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION ), then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.
Remove the rear side trim panel (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - CARGO AREA ).
Remove the headliner (see HEADLINER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
Disconnect the side curtain airbag inflator 2P connector (A).

Remove the side curtain airbag mounting bolts (A) and the mounting bolts (B) from the bracket. Detach the clips (C), the clip (D), and the clip (E), then remove the side curtain airbag (F).
