Special Tools Required
KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts.
- Take care not to bend the brackets.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components.
- Remove the dashboard/steering hanger beam (see DASHBOARD CENTER LOWER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Remove these items from the dashboard:
- Driver's outer dashboard panel (see DRIVER'S DASHBOARD OUTER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Center panel (see DASHBOARD CENTER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Tweeter, both sides (see TWEETER )
- Instrument panel (see INSTRUMENT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Gauge control module (see GAUGE CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT )
- Sunlight sensor (see SUNLIGHT SENSOR TEST )
- Radio switch panel, with audio unit (see AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Shift lever (see SHIFT LEVER REMOVAL )
- Audio display-clock, with audio unit (see AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Dashboard side vent (see LOWER GLOVE BOX DAMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Passenger's airbag (see FRONT PASSENGER'S AIRBAG REPLACEMENT )
- Center pocket (see CENTER POCKET REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Beverage holder (see BEVERAGE HOLDER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- From the front of the dashboard, detach the harness clips (A, B).
- Detach the harness clip (A), and disconnect the glove box light connector (B).
- From the back of the dashboard, detach the tweeter harness clip (A).
- From the back of the dashboard, detach the connectors (A), and release the sunlight sensor harness (B) from the hooks (C).
- From the back of the dashboard, detach the tweeter harness clip (A).
- From the back of the dashboard, detach the harness clip (A).
- Remove the bolts (A) and screws (B), then separate the dashboard (C) and steering hanger beam (D), and disconnect the connectors (E).
- Install the beam in the reverse order or removal, and note these items:
- Make sure the dashboard wire harness is not pinched.
- Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly.
