Deflection Inspection Method

  1. Apply a force of 22 ft. lbs. (98 N), and measure the deflection at the midpoint between the alternator and crankshaft pulley. If the belt is worn or damaged, replace it. If the belt needs adjustment, see Adjustment .
  2. Adjust belt to specifications. See BELT ADJUSTMENT SPECIFICATIONS .
