Belt Tension Gauge Inspection Method: Notes

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2000 Honda Odyssey, 2000 Honda Insight, 2000 Honda Civic, 2000 Honda Accord, and 1999 Honda Odyssey. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: The following special tool is required: Belt Tension Gauge (07JGG-001010A).
  1. Remove the three bolts from the left end of the splash shield, and pull it back as needed.
  2. Attach the belt tension gauge to the belt and measure the tension. Follow the gauge manufacturer's instructions. If the belt is worn or damaged, replace it. If the belt needs adjustment, see Adjustment .
  3. Adjust belt to specifications. See BELT ADJUSTMENT SPECIFICATIONS .
