Installation Procedure

    Ignition and Start Switch (1) - Install

    WARNING:

    Never install the passenger airbag module into the instrument panel assembly that airbag module chute is cut. This may cause incorrect deployment when the passenger airbag is deployed.

    Instrument Panel Airbag (2) - Install

    3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Instrument Panel Airbag Nut (1) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications

    With the aid of an assistant, position the instrument panel (1) in the vehicle.

  5. Connect the electrical connectors and install the wiring harness retainers as necessary.
  6. Instrument Panel (1) - Install

    Windshield Defroster Outlet Duct Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

    Connect the electrical connector.

  9. Instrument Panel Airbag Bolt (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications 
  10. Instrument Panel Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Instrument Panel Center Air Outlet Duct Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

  12. Instrument Panel Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [5x] - Fastener Specifications

    Steering Wheel and Column Assembly (1) - Install

    NOTE:

    Support the steering column while installing the steering column nuts.

    Steering Column Nut (1) - Install and hand tighten [4x]

  17. Connect the electrical connector and install the wiring harness retainers as necessary.

    Steering Column Nut (1) - Tighten in sequence [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    NOTE:

    Ensure the match marks on the upper intermediate steering shaft and steering column are aligned.

    Intermediate Steering Shaft (1) @ Steering Column - Install

  20. If a NEW threaded component is being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded component is reused, prepare the threaded component using the following steps:
    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the component using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned component into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Remove loose debris from internal and external threads using compressed air.
    4. Apply liquid thread locking adhesive in a strip along half of the length of the external threads, starting at the tip, just prior to installation. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

    Intermediate Steering Shaft Upper Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover (2) - Install

    Turn the steering wheel approximately 90 degrees to the left of the centered position.

  25. Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Turn the steering wheel approximately 90 degrees to the right of the centered position.

  27. Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications 
  28. Turn the steering wheel to the centered position.
  29. Remove the device used to prevent steering column rotation.

    Dimmer Switch (1) - Install

    Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Handle (3) - Install

  43. Data Link Connector (2) - Install
  44. Data Link Connector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Insulator - Left Side (2) - Install

    46. NOTE:

    Quantity of retainers may vary based on option content.

  46. Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Insulator Retainer (1) - Install [4x]

    Instrument Panel Air Outlet Bezel - Right Side (2) - Install

    Clip the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover to the instrument panel steering column lower trim cover.

  51. Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate (2) - Install
  52. Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Instrument Panel Air Outlet Bezel - Left Side (2) - Install

  80. Radio Front Speaker - Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install [2x]
  81. Radio Front Speaker Bolt - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Radio Front Speaker Grille - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install [2x]

    Connect the electrical connectors.

  84. Windshield Garnish Molding Bolt - Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  85. Align the retainer clips with the slots in the A pillar and press both the left side and right side windshield garnish molding (1) into place.
  86. Windshield Garnish Molding - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install [2x]
  87. Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling
