Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Remove Air Cleaner Assembly -Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
  2. Remove Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly -Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement
  3. Remove Vacuum Pump Assembly - Vacuum Pump Assembly Replacement

  4. Remove the wiring harness fastener (1) then reposition the wiring harness (2) as needed.

  5. Remove Engine Wiring Harness Bolt.
  6. Remove Engine Wiring Harness Retainer (2) - [2x]
  7. Disconnect Electrical Connector (3).
  8. Remove Air Cleaner Outlet Duct@Turbocharger - Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement

    NOTE:

    The positive crankcase ventilation valve and tube assembly (2) are not reusable. If reinstalling the camshaft cover, do not remove the PCV valve and tube assembly (2) from the camshaft cover.

  9. Remove the PCV valve tube fastener (1).
  10. Remove Turbocharger Coolant Return Pipe - Turbocharger Coolant Return Pipe Replacement (LYX)
  11. Remove Engine Lift Rear Bracket - Engine Lift Rear Bracket Replacement 
  12. Remove the oil level indicator.

    NOTE:

    Remove the camshaft cover with the PCV tubes attached.

  13. Remove Camshaft Cover (4) -Camshaft Cover Removal 
  14. If reinstalling the camshaft cover, clean and inspect the cover, replace seals, gaskets and transfer components as needed.
  15. If replacing the camshaft cover, remove the following:
    1. Remove Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve - Intake - Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve Replacement - Intake
    2. Remove Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve - Exhaust - Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve Replacement - Exhaust
    3. Remove Camshaft Position Sensor - Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement - Intake
    4. Remove Camshaft Position Sensor - Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement - Exhaust
    5. Remove Camshaft Position Actuator Locating Pin Control Valve -Camshaft Position Actuator Locating Pin Control Valve Replacement
