Installation Procedure

- Inspect the engine mount to ensure the phenolic spacer (1) is in place and not damaged.
- With the aid of an assistant, position and secure the new frame assembly to the support fixture.
- Front Crossmember Brace - Position in place
- Front Crossmember Brace Bolt Install and tighten 22 N.m (16 lb ft)
- With the aid of an assistant, carefully lower the body to the frame.
- Ensure the following components are clear from the frame:
- Vacuum lines
- Steering knuckles
- Electrical wiring harnesses
- Oil cooler lines
- Engine Mount Bolt Install and tighten 58 N.m (43 lb ft)
- Engine Mount - install
- Engine Mount Nut Install and tighten 70 N.m (52 lb ft)
- Install the four drivetrain and front suspension cradle front bolts (1) and tighten 105 N.m (77 lb ft)
- Install the two drivetrain and front suspension cradle interior bolts (2) and tighten to 100 N.m (74 lb ft)
- Install the two drivetrain and front suspension cradle rear bolts (3) and tighten to
- Remove the J-39580 engine support stand from under the vehicle.
- Electrical Connectors @ Power Steering Assist Motor - Connect FEP Connectors (Steering Gear)
- Electrical Connector @ Engine Mount Vacuum Solenoid - Connect
- Install the wiring harness retainers to the frame.
- Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump - install Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump Replacement (LF4)
- Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Bolt - install and tighten 9 N.m (80 lb in)
- Vacuum Hose @Engine Mount Vacuum Hose - Connect
- Intermediate Steering Shaft - Connect Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (RWD)Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (AWD)
- Charge Air Cooler Bracket Fastener - install and tighten 22 N.m (16 lb ft)
- Front Lower Control Rear Link @ Front Steering Knuckle - install Front Lower Control Rear Link Replacement (V-Series)
- Front Lower Control Front Link @Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle - install Front Lower Control Front Link Replacement (V-Series)
- Electrical Connector - Connect
- Electronic Suspension Front Position Sensor @Front Lower Control Rear Link - Connect
- Wiring Harness Retainer - Engage
- Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod - install Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement (V-Series)
- Stabilizer Shaft Link @ Stabilizer Shaft - install Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (V-Series)
- { If equipped }Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe Fastener - install and tighten
- Remove the mechanics wire supporting the radiator assembly.
- Front Cradle Shear Plate - install Front Cradle Shear Plate Replacement (V Series)
- Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield - install Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (RWD) Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (AWD)
- Front Wheelhouse Splash Shield - install Front Wheelhouse Splash Shield Replacement (AWD) Front Wheelhouse Splash Shield Replacement (RWD)
- Front Compartment Air Deflector - install Front Compartment Air Deflector Replacement (V Series)
- Install the front tire and wheel assemblies. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (V-Series October 4th 2015 and Earlier)Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (V-Series October 5th 2015 and Later)
- Install the front tires and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (V-Series October 4th 2015 and Earlier)Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (V-Series October 5th 2015 and Later)
- Remove the engine support fixture.
CAUTION:
Phenolic spacer must be present to prevent galvanic/corrosive reaction and/or excessive temperature conduction between engine mount bracket and engine mount. Replace mount if phenolic spacer is missing or damaged. Failure to ensure phenolic spacer is intact and not damaged can lead to premature failure of engine mount and/or engine mount bracket.
NOTE:
Suspension components attached to the frame use Torque-to-Yield fasteners and must be DISCARDED and replaced with NEW Torque Angle Yield (TAY) fasteners. The frame to body fasteners are not TAY fasteners.
