Installation Procedure

  1. Assemble the camshaft cover as needed. Camshaft Cover Assemble
    2. Fig 1: Camshaft Cover, Bolt, Seal -- With Tightening Sequence

  2. Place a bead 8 mm (0.3150 in) in width by 4 mm (0.1575 in) in height of RTV sealant equivalent, on the engine front cover split lines (1). Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
  3. Install a NEW Camshaft Cover Seal (2)
  4. Install Camshaft Cover (3)
  5. Install Camshaft Cover Bolt (4)
    6. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  6. Tighten in the sequence shown. 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
  7. Position and install the engine harness to the camshaft cover.
  8. Install Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve Solenoid - Bank 1 Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve Solenoid Replacement - Bank 1 (Right Side) Intake
  9. Install Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve Solenoid - Bank 1 Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve Solenoid Replacement - Bank 1 (Right Side) Exhaust
  10. Install Ignition Coil - Bank 1 Ignition Coil Replacement - Bank 1
  11. Connect Connect Positive Crankcase Ventilation Tube@Camshaft Cover
  12. Install Camshaft Housing Cover Insulator - Right Side Camshaft Housing Cover Insulator Replacement - Right Side
