Installation Procedure

- Inspect the engine mount to ensure the phenolic spacer (1) is in place and not damaged.
- With the aid of an assistant, position and secure the new frame assembly to the support fixture.
- Front Crossmember Brace (2) Position in place
- Install Front Crossmember Brace Bolt (1) and tighten 22 N.m (16 lb ft)
- With the aid of an assistant, carefully lower the body to the frame.
- Ensure the following components are clear from the frame:
- Vacuum lines
- Steering knuckles
- Electrical wiring harnesses
- Oil cooler lines
- Install Engine Mount Bolt (1) and tighten 58 N.m (43 lb ft)
- Install Engine Mount (2)
- Install Engine Mount Nut and tighten 70 N.m (52 lb ft)
- Install the four drivetrain and front suspension cradle front bolts (1) and tighten to 105 N.m (77 lb ft).
- Install the two drivetrain and front suspension cradle interior bolts (2) and tighten to 105 N.m (77 lb ft).
- Install the two drivetrain and front suspension cradle rear bolts (3) and tighten to 100 N.m (74 lb ft).
- Remove the J-39580 engine support stand from under the vehicle.
- Connect Electrical Connectors (1) @Power Steering Assist Motor (2)FEP Connectors (Steering Gear)
- Connect Electrical Connector (1) @ Engine Mount Vacuum Solenoid (1)
- Install the wiring harness retainers to the frame.(3)
- Install Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump (3)Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump Replacement (LF4)
- Install Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Bolt (1) and tighten 9 N.m (80 lb in)
- Connect Vacuum Hose (1) @Engine Mount Vacuum Hose (2)
- Connect Intermediate Steering Shaft (1)Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (RWD)
- Install Charge Air Cooler Bracket Fastener (1) and tighten 22 N.m (16 lb ft)
- Install Front Lower Control Rear Link (1) @Front Steering Knuckle Front Lower Control Rear Link Replacement (V-Series)
- Install Front Lower Control Front Link (1) @Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Front Lower Control Front Link Replacement (V-Series)
- Connect Electrical Connector (1)
- Connect Electronic Suspension Front Position Sensor (2) @Front Lower Control Rear Link (3)
- Engage Wiring Harness Retainer
- Install Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod (3) Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement (V-Series)
- Install Stabilizer Shaft Link (1) @Stabilizer Shaft Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (V-Series)
- Install { If equipped }Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe Fastener (1) and tighten
- Remove the mechanics wire supporting the radiator assembly.
- Install Front Cradle Shear Plate (3)Front Cradle Shear Plate Replacement (V Series)
- Install Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield (4)Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (Front Wheel Drive) Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (All Wheel Drive)
- Install Front Wheelhouse Splash Shield (3)Front Wheelhouse Splash Shield Replacement (Rear Wheel Drive) Front Wheelhouse Splash Shield Replacement (All Wheel Drive)
- Install Front Compartment Air Deflector (4) Front Compartment Air Deflector Replacement (V Series)
- Install the front tire and wheel assemblies. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (V-Series)
- Install the front tires and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (V-Series)
- Remove the engine support fixture.
CAUTION:
Phenolic spacer must be present to prevent galvanic/corrosive reaction and/or excessive temperature conduction between engine mount bracket and engine mount. Replace mount if phenolic spacer is missing or damaged. Failure to ensure phenolic spacer is intact and not damaged can lead to premature failure of engine mount and/or engine mount bracket.
NOTE:
Suspension components attached to the frame use Torque-to-Yield fasteners and must be DISCARDED and replaced with NEW Torque Angle Yield (TAY) fasteners. The frame to body fasteners are not TAY fasteners.
