Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 Cadillac ATS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Individually slide each fuel rail (1) toward the front of the engine approximately 1 inch (25.4 mm), in order to align the center injector bore.
- Hand tighten the two outer fuel rail fasteners to seat the injectors.
- Start and hand tighten the remaining fuel rail fasteners.
- Tighten the fuel rail fasteners in the sequence shown above:
- Tighten the fuel rail fasteners first pass to 12 N.m (9 lb ft).
- Tighten the fuel rail fasteners a final pass to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the NEW fuel feed intermediate pipe. Refer to Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement (LF4) .
- Connect the fuel rail electrical connectors (1) then connect the harness retainers to the fuel feed bracket (2).
- Inspect for fuel leaks using the following procedure:
- Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
- Turn OFF the ignition, for 10 seconds.
- Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
- Inspect for fuel leaks.
- Install the fuel injection fuel rail noise shield (1) onto the engine (2).
- Install the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement (LF4) .
- Install the fuel pipe shield. Refer to Fuel Pipe Shield Replacement (LF4) .
- If removed, install the low side fuel pressure service port cap.
